On 29th May, in observance of WORLD NO TOBACCO DAY, Department of Public Health Dentistry, MES Dental College, conducted a dental camp organized for migrant communities at Nalakath Granite Industries, Poopalam, in collaboration with Community Medicine, MES Medical College at 4pm. The event featured oral cancer screenings for 50 patients, identifying those requiring further treatment, who were subsequently referred to health centers in Pattikad and Pandikkad, as well as MES Dental College. Brochures on tobacco cessation were distributed to the participants. Additionally, Dr. Nivethitha delivered an impactful speech and led a pledge among the migrant community members to quit tobacco use. Various departments of MES Medical College actively participated in making the camp a success, demonstrating their commitment to public health and community service. The dental team was headed by Dr. Shafeeda, Dental Officer, RHTC Pattikad, Dr. Jumana, Lecturer, Public Health Dentistry, and comprised of house surgeons Dr. Nivedita, Dr. Sana Abdul Majeed and Dr. Anand Roy and a Dental Operating Room Assistant (DORA) Saran The program was successfully concluded at 7pm.
