MES dental college conducted a tobacco awareness programme on World No Tobacco Day, 31st of May 2023 at Pandikkad health centre. The team consisted of Dr Krishnaja Kumar, faculty, Department of public health dentistry, house surgeons Dr. Uttara, Dr. Tejaswini and Dr. Alaga Bhaskaran and five final year BDS students. Awareness talks on health issues associated with tobacco use were given by Dr. Uttara and Dr. Alaga to patients visiting the health centre. Pamphlets were distributed by students to patients as well as to nearby shops and establishments to spread awareness on tobacco abuse.
