A two-day dental camp was conducted at MES Central School, Puthanathani on 24th and 25th June 2025 by the Department of Public Health Dentistry, MES Dental College. The camp aimed to promote oral health awareness among school children and included comprehensive dental screening and education sessions.
As part of the initiative, the “Punchiri” programme was introduced to encourage early oral health habits and preventive care among children. Alongside dental screening, special awareness sessions were conducted on the ill effects of tobacco and the harmful impact of excessive sugar consumption. These talks aimed to instill healthy lifestyle choices and prevent dental and systemic diseases.
The event witnessed active participation from students and school authorities, and the team ensured individual attention and health education to all participants. The camp successfully highlighted the importance of oral health and preventive practices among school children.
