POLICY DOCUMENT MIDCOURSE IMPROVEMENT MEASURES FOR STUDENTS

 Midcourse improvement is a part of MES Dental College’s teaching and learning guidelines that helps faculty in continuous monitoring of thestudents’ performance. The course evaluation system consists of internal examinations program alongwith well supported remedial measures to assess the student performance. Thisincludes conduction of three terminal examination followed by execution of the remedialprogram and re-test for slow learner followed by timely execution of faculty feedback.

1. Faculties evaluate students through both formative and summative assessments
2. Students are encouraged to apply learning outcomes and achieveclinical excellence
3. Compromised learners are trained to progress to better learners through remedial test measures
4. Analysis of individual students through subject experts and mentor-mentee interaction
5. Library hour for students post-college hours
6. Peer assited learning through buddy teaching
7. Chapter wise revisions and tests after completion of lectures.
8. Allocation of assignments and revision of topics periodically including seminar presentations.
9. Providing constructive feedback to students during discussion of answer scripts.

FACULTY ASSESSMENT

Answer sheets will be evaluated by the subject in charge according to theanswer key without any bias.Marks will be published to students within 7 working days.

CONTINUOUS INTERNAL EVALUATION (CIE)

Formative evaluation for students: In accordance with the prepared academic calendar, students are assessed with three internal examinations.Theevaluation is made for both theory and practicals.

Summative evaluation for students:Students are finally assessed by university theory and practical examinations.
