IQAC
Introduction
The IQAC committee of MES Dental College was formed on 18 August 2021 with the Principal as chairman and vice principal as its chief coordinator. It consists of a joint coordinator, a member from the management and 11 other members from different departments. The committee performs regular academic and administrative audits to improve quality of the system. The academic audit is done for both UG and PG students with regard to their teaching learning process. The meeting of IQAC is conducted twice in a year. The committee works with a mission to improve the academic and administrative performance of the institution. Our college is a University approved research centre with approved PHD guides. IQAC committee collects structural feedback from students, teachers and alumni. The committee also monitors welfare programs available in the institution for teaching and non- teaching staffs. The IQAC in its review meetings discusses and proposes agenda for quality assurance strategies, revision of treatment charges, infrastructure development.
Meeting Schedule
The meeting of IQAC is conducted twice in a year. The committee performs regular academic and administrative audits to improve quality of the system. The academic audit is done for both UG and PG students with regard to their teaching learning process. The administrative audit is done by checking record of various departments to ensure accountability and transparency. A library audit is done to keep record of books, journals and titles in the central library. A regular check of sterilization and infection control is also done by the infection control team of the college and the quality of treatment provided is assessed and made sure by the subject experts in various departments. The college has two peripheral health centers (rural) & statistics are reviewed on a monthly basis. Follow up is done to check the number of patients treated in the community outreach programs.
Name of Committees
There are many committees like college curriculum committee, academic monitoring cell, library advisory committee, college council, college union and others to maintain periodic monitoring. Students are encouraged to take part in research projects, short studies and publications. Our college is a University approved research centre with approved PHD guides. The routine meetings of academic committee focuses on competency assessment, evaluative mechanisms, achievements and awards of faculty and students , research areas and methods to improve research potential in students and staffs. The institute has also bagged projects approved and funded by ICMR.
Committee Programs

A few IQAC recommendations have been forwarded to the management for improvement of infrastructure by various department heads.
Frequency of Meeting:
IQAC meets monthly to review all activities including events, meetings, audits, operation of OPD’s, outreach activities, etc., along with discussions on upcoming action plans. Progress on accreditation initiatives and other college quality improvement measures are discussed. Hence, all MESDC initiatives and activities are governed by the IQAC.
Formation of Committee:
The IQAC oversees the committees and decides on the formation of its members. The scope of work by each committee is defined by the IQAC and also ensures that each committee operates to its fullest extent, contributing to the effective functioning of the institution. A circular with the agenda is distributed well in advance and the minutes of the IQAC meeting are recorded and uploaded to the portal on the same day for easy and direct access to the condition of quality measures at MESDC.
Functions of IQAC:
- Development and maintenance of an institutional database with the objective of
Maintaining/enhancing institutional quality.
- Co-ordination of intra and inter-institutional workshops and seminars on themes and promoting quality circles.
- Substantiate various college programs/activities, leading to quality improvement.
- Act as a nodal body of the College for the coordination of quality-related activities, which include the adoption and dissemination of good practice.
- Establishment and application of quality criteria/parameters on various academic and
administrative activities of the college.
- To arrange for feedback from students, parents and others on institutional processes related to quality.
- Provision of information about various quality parameters of higher education
