The department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery deals with a wide spectrum of procedures from simple tooth extractions to management of various craniofacial anomalies. Our department was established in the year 2007. It aims in providing quality care for the patients at affordable cost. Department moto embraces Planning, Precision and Perfection. Centre is committed to provide students with all the possible resources and support for them to develop new skills, learn best practices, and contribute to progress in this specialization. The experienced faculty team is headed by Professor Dr. Sachin Aslam. The Centre is well equipped for doing all minor and major head and neck surgeries as either out -patient or in-patient procedure. The post graduate course was introduced in the year 2016 with 3 PG students annually. New cleft and craniofacial unit have been introduced in 2021.the department focuses not just on patient care, but also gives equal emphasis to advanced and innovative teaching methodologies and research activities.
The department has a spacious clinical area, separate undergraduate and postgraduate divisions, a minor OT with a recovery room for special case management, seminar hall, department library. Department can accommodate 30 patients in undergraduate clinic, 12 patients in postgraduate clinic and 5 patients in minor OT area simultaneously. The undergraduate / postgraduate surgical training program aims to develop knowledge and skill in all minor and major orofacial surgical procedures. The in-patient division, fully equipped major surgery theatres, patient recovery room and intensive care units are housed in the MES medical college and hospital located in the same campus. More than fifty in- patient beds in the hospital are exclusively dedicated to the Department of OMFS and have 3 routine operating days weekly.
