That specialty of dentistry which encompasses the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of diseases of the supporting and surrounding tissues of the teeth or their substitutes; the maintenance of the health, function and aesthetics of these structures and tissues; and the replacement of lost teeth and supporting structures by grafting or implantation of natural and synthetic devices and materials
The Department of Periodontics at MES DENTAL COLLEGE strives on providing the best evidence based periodontal treatment to all our patients. Our aim is to prevent tooth loss, optimize the dentition so that functional and aesthetics needs are stabilized for relative long period of time.
The widespread department with advanced infrastructure and clinical skills provide enhanced patient care and best teaching in academics. The department also aims at educating the patients towards importance of oral health and the potential effect of periodontal diseases on overall systemic health.
The various treatment provided in the department includes:
Scaling and Root Planing, Local drug delivery, Flap surgeries, Resective and Regenerative periodontal surgeries, Periodontal plastic and aesthetic surgeries, Periodontal Microsurgeries and Implant placement. Treatment using LASER are routinely carried out in managing periodontal disease
