MES SATELLITE CENTERS
MES Primary Health Centers (PHCs), established in 2004, have served as a foundational pillar of rural healthcare, providing essential services to underserved populations. These centres promote sound healthcare practices through tailored educational awareness programs, benefiting both rural and urban populations. Offering high-quality, cost-effective treatments, MES remains committed to accessible healthcare.
DENTAL HEALTH CARE UNIT ATTAPPADI
MES has established a health center in Attappadi, Palakkad district, a prominent tribal hub and one of the most socio-economically and educationally disadvantaged regions in Kerala. Inaugurated on October 13, 2022, and operational from January 2023, the center serves a community historically dominated by indigenous tribes, including the Mudugar, Irular, and Kurumbar. While the area remains a tribal heartland, it also hosts settlers from Kerala and Tamil Nadu. Among these communities, the Kurumbars are the most isolated, maintaining a more traditional lifestyle. With a tribal population of approximately 30,000 spread across 192 hamlets, the center is dedicated to providing specialized dental care. Social workers have been appointed to assess the community’s needs and ensure that tribal patients receive the necessary treatment. Attappadi has consistently attracted attention due to on-going concerns about infant mortality rates among its tribal population.
