Student Council is a body governed by students and guided by their teachers. It provides an opportunity for students to engage in a structured partnership with teachers, parents and college management in the operations of their institution. The institute aims at encouraging and motivating the aspiring dentists to hone their leadership skills, team building skills and creating a sense of responsibility and dedication towards peers, patients and the community. The students are given various opportunities to practically implement what they learn under the guidance of the teachers mentoring the council.

STRUCTURE OF THE STUDENT COUNCIL:

                                The Student Council has equal representatives from all batches of students in the college and every perspective is acknowledged. The Council is responsible for activities like management of hostels, academic grievances of students, organizing the cultural and sports activities inside and outside the campus etc. The Students Council is very active in protecting the student welfare in areas of academics and administration. The various committees of the institution have ample of representation from the students.

STUDENT COUNCIL FOR ACADEMIC ACTIVITIES:

                             Student council conducts periodic surveys among the students through the Academic committee regarding the teaching methodology and appropriate actions are taken.

STUDENT COUNCIL FOR WELFARE OF HOSTELIERS:

                                       The Hostel committee is responsible for the welfare of residential students. Members of student council are nominated as representatives in the hostel committee. They conduct periodic meeting through which areas of concerns are identified and reported to the college administration for suitable action. A complaint book is made available in the hostel for any feedback and suggestions.

STUDENT COUNCIL INVOLVEMENT IN SPORTS

                                       The Sports committee focuses on conducting various intra and inter college sports events. The Sports secretaries along with the physical education director are responsible for conducting all the sports activities and the maintenance of sports grounds and sports equipment. The student sport secretaries coordinate with the students and encourage them to participate in inter and intra college activities. The student council requests the administration to bear the expenses met by the athletes for all inter college events, which is duly indulged.

 STUDENT COUNCIL INVOLVEMENT IN CULTURAL ACTIVITIES:

                                       The student council in collaboration with Cultural committee  is responsible for conducting various inter and intra college cultural events which include art, culinary and theatrical disciplines.

STUDENT COUNCIL INVOLVEMENT IN LIBRARY ACTIVITIES:

                                The student council involves in developing library activities in collaboration with Library committee which is responsible for ensuring the addition of new books and journals to the library. The committee also monitors the availability of e- books and e- journals in the library.

STUDENT COUNCIL IN SOCIAL SERVICE:

                                 As a part of community out-reach program, the Student council under the guidance of the faculty holds regular camps at various Pain and Palliative Centers where dental and psychological support is given to the patients. The patients are treated at the Dental hospital whenever required.
