On October 18, 2024, a talk show titled “Understanding Geriatric Care in Dentistry” was held in connection with International Day of Older person day .event was held at the seminar hall of MES Dental College. Dr. Aysha ,senior lecturer from the Department of Prosthodontics led the session, focusing on the unique dental needs of older adults.
Dr. Aysha provided insights into the challenges faced by elderly patients, emphasizing the importance of tailored dental care approaches. She discussed common geriatric dental issues, such as tooth decay, periodontal disease, and the impact of systemic health conditions on oral health. The talk encouraged students and interns to recognize the significance of empathy and effective communication in treating older patients.
