Women Empowerment Cell
Gender sensitisation programs are conducted in order to create awareness among the students regarding various gender issues. Programs ranging from gender equality, women’s rights, educating girl child, child marriage, and female foeticide etc.
SECURITY:
As a matter of security, CCTV camera is in place at vital places in the college so as to monitor the movements, Security checkpoints at all campus entries and exits at vital places. Separate hostels for men and women with dedicated wardens have been provided for students, which also has security personnel and CCTV coverage for safety. The management often conducts review meetings to check the security status in the campus.
SAFETY:
We are also equipped with a fire extinguisher and water pipeline in all the floors. Apart from the gymnasium, yoga and other sports facilities, women safety awareness programme is conducted in the college by some senior faculty members. Self defence programmes, gender equity programmes are also conducted by faculty members and executed by some students through street play and mime. For example programs like “say no to rape”, “say no to dowry” are conducted.
CAMPAIGN AGAINST BAD PRACTICES:
Strict implementation of Anti-Ragging is overseen by principal and registrars and other committee members without fail. Anti-Smoking Awareness campaigns, anti- drug addiction campaigns through street plays / posters/ short films etc. have been conducted by MES Dental college from past decade or so.
GRIEVANCE ADDRESSAL FOR WOMEN:
Women grievance cell was managed under the guidance of senior faculty to address the complaint filed by the girls and women faculty.
COUNSELING:
Students are counselled on various aspects, Group counselling is advocated in order to make the student aware of newer strategies along with new behavioural practices. Goal focussed individual counselling to address the personal concerns of the students. Mentors and Counsellors have been nominated among the teaching faculty to solve the different issues of the students. A group of ten students are assigned to a mentor who would in turn liasion and mentor the students throughout their student career.
COMMON ROOMS:
Girls and boys are being provided with spacious common rooms, Girls students are provided with spacious common rooms with toilet facilities in the dental college.
CHILD CARE:
Exclusive child day care (MES play school) centre is provided by the management near to dental college premise, which is equipped with toys, colourful wall paintings, chairs and tables to make the children feel comfortable. Age related teaching is also given to the kids.
